Manufacturing Industry Applications
Manufacturing testing usually requires higher test accuracy, better throughput, easy data storage, and great flexibility. Kingfisher instruments provide best practice accuracy and reporting capability, with throughput adequate for most tasks. In addition, practical interchangeable connectors make it easy to use a variety of connectors.
-
Volume attenuation & ORL certification requires high productivity, high accuracy and a reporting / ticket printing function. This is provided by a pair of KI 734x. In conjunction with our KITS™ freeware, this solution requires only one set-up, and one mouse click, to accurately test two-way attenuation and ORL. The results are placed directly into a customised report or label. This is possibly the industry's fastest solution, also available with a choice of up to 4 CWDM lasers. Ideal for testing connector assemblies and other passive components.
-
The KI 734x also includes advanced ORL measurement features for zeroing residual reflections and adding user offsets. These instruments provide stable measurement performance across the entire measurement range. OPT092 provides high port isolation for manufacturing applications.
-
For basic loss testing, continuity testing or optical power measurements, we have a simple Source & Power meter. These incorporate automation to make them easy to use, and have many other useful features such as traceable calibration, interchangeable connectors, very long battery life and more, at an affordable price.
-
Alternatively Basic Loss Test Sets perform a similar function to a source and meter, but with less equipment inventory. These are available with up to 4 CWDM lasers, and come with KITS™ reporting software.
-
Our CWDM Meter with 1% accurate calibrations across the entire CWDM wavelength range, offers about the highest fully traceable absolute accuracy in the industry. We recommend InGaAs and Si detectors for manufacturing applications, since the achieved accuracy is always superior to Ge detectors.
-
KITS™ software provides a flexible and easy to use software reporting environment, based on Microsoft Excel. In addition to customizable attenuation reports and labels, this also performs data logging, which is useful to support environmental, fault finding and other r&d functions.
-
The KI7010A Automated Attenuator offers both the high accuracy required for measuring linearity, and the excellent optical characteristics needed for checking receiver performance. Automation can be achieved in two ways. The user can easily program and store a variety of attenuation sequences, or free software can be used to control the instrument from a PC.
-
For general fiber identification, continuity testing and fault finding we have excellent Visible fault locators and Clip on Identifiers.
-
To ensure that optical connectors are clean and in good condition, everyone should have a connector inspection microscope.
-
To accurately pinpoint optical cable faults, the Cold Clamp is a unique solution. This can also find manufacturing faults in long cable sections.
These instruments feature interchangeable connector adaptors for all modern 2.5 mm and 1.25 mm ferrule connectors including SC, LC, FC, MU, ST, LSA, E2000, LX5, F3000, SMA and Universal 2.5 mm.
Kingfisher's Optical Calibration Laboratory offers the highest level of calibration traceability in the industry. This is typically an important issue to give your customers the highest confidence in your products and services.
