LAN Industry Applications
Today's LAN systems most commonly operate at 850 nm using 50u OM3 fiber. However there are many other arrangements in use, including legacy 1300 nm / 62.5 u fiber, single mode and CWDM transmission. Very often, there are multiple fiber types on one site. We have solutions for all of these.
-
For mixed singlemode and multimode cable acceptance, continuity testing, fault finding or optical power measurement, the KI7824 / KI7601-Ge General Contractor Kit offers terrific practical versatility for most applications. The light source has both 850 / 1300 nm LED & 1310 / 1550 nm laser emitters, and a choice of connector adaptors. The CWDM capable power meter has memory, a data link and KITS™ software, and is also fitted with a visible fault finder. All this in just two instruments, supplied in a convenient padded carry case.
-
For basic cable acceptance, continuity testing or optical power measurements, we have simple Sources & Power meters. These incorporate automation to make them easy to use, and have many other useful features such as traceable calibration, interchangeable connectors, very long battery life and more. Multimode or single mode at an affordable price. Some of these instruments include CWDM capability, KITS™ software and other features.
-
Alternatively Basic Loss Test Sets perform a similar function to a source and meter, but with less equipment inventory. Both single mode and multimode versions are available. These come with KITS™ reporting software.
-
Measure cable loss much faster and more easily with a Two Way Loss Test Set + ORL. This is the preferred solution when labor cost or skill is a major consideration. These come with KITS™ reporting software, and can also be used for basic continuity testing, or as a precision power meter. Both single mode and multimode versions are available, and both offer integrated Optical Return Loss measurement for no extra test effort.
-
For multimode loss testing with better accuracy, LED sources have optional Standards compliance and fully traceable calibration certificates.
-
For general fiber identification, continuity testing and fault finding we have excellent Visible fault locators and Clip on Identifiers.
-
To ensure that optical connectors are clean and in good condition, everyone should have a connector inspection microscope.
Instruments feature interchangeable connector adaptors for all modern 2.5 mm and 1.25 mm ferrule connectors including SC, LC, FC, MU, ST, LSA, E2000, LX5, F3000, SMA, and universal connectors.
All KI 7000 and KI 3000 instruments feature Autotest compatibility, so your entire inventory of handheld instruments can have compatible automation features for all field staff.
Kingfisher's Optical Calibration Laboratory offers the highest level of calibration traceability in the industry. This is typically an important issue to give your customers the highest confidence in your products and services.
