Accessibility

Kingfisher has strongly advocated fully accessible design in web pages, and in continuing this trend, we have updated the site using suitably compliant code. Areas in which we strive to achieve strong accesibility are:

1. Readability

Where possible, all font sizes have been made relative. To try using this, hold the control button and move your mouse scroll wheel up/down.
N.B. Firefox offers this capability on any web page.

2. Compatibility & Browser Standards Compliance

We endeavour to make this site accesible for PDAs, Cell Phones, Small and Large screens by using fluid design where possible.

If the navigation bar cannot be seen, our footer provides a secondary launch point.

Pure Standards compliance leads to troubles in accessibility, so we have a philosophy of browser checking. This site has been extensively checked, and is fully functional in Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6 & 7 [beta], Firefox 0.8, 1.07, 1.5, Deer Park [beta] and Apple Safari. Extensive usablity tests on the site have also been done on portable browsers such as Pocket Internet Explorer, Blazer, Opera for Windows Mobile, and Netfront. (If this site does not display correctly, Kingfisher suggests either upgrading Internet Explorer, or using Firefox)
